- Up to 90% less radiation
- Higher quality images
- Immediate results
- Easy transfer of records to another provider
- Much less waste, since no film or chemicals are involved
Dr. O'Keefe's combination of expertise and technology provide patients with incredible benefits regarding their health, appearance, comfort, and convenience.
Intraoral Cameras
Dr. O’Keefe uses an intraoral camera, which is a small, hand-held camera with a built-in light source. It is about the size of a dental mirror. The intraoral camera allows Dr. O’Keefe to zoom in about 25 times on one tooth. Whatever the camera sees, you and Dr. O’Keefe can see on a nearby monitor. He will show you any problems he notices such as cracked teeth, broken fillings, cavities, and plaque deposits. The images will allow Dr. O’Keefe to thoroughly explain your dental issues and the treatment that he recommends. With this knowledge, you will be able to make more informed treatment decisions.
Air Abrasion System
Dr. O’Keefe uses an air abrasion system to remove decay. This technique involves using a device that blows a stream of air along with a very fine abrasive powder, similar to sandblasting. This system tends to remove far less healthy tooth tissue than a traditional dental drill. Air abrasion can also be used to remove stains from teeth, as well as to prepare a tooth surface for bonding.

The Wand
For the benefit of his patients, Dr. O’Keefe uses the Wand for injections of local anesthesia. The Wand is a computer-assisted anesthesia system that delivers a slow, steady injection of local anesthetic to one tooth at a time. Often, patients do not even realize they just received an injection.
Oral Cancer Screening
With the OralCDx® system, Dr. O’Keefe can detect potentially dangerous oral lesions early so that diagnosis and treatment can take place in the earliest stages of oral cancer, when it is easiest to treat.
Root Canal Technology
During endodontic (root canal) therapy, Dr. O’Keefe uses lasers and microscopes to perform efficient, comfortable treatment. He also employs the Root ZX Apex Locator to navigate the intricate root canals and ensure thorough treatment resulting in long-term benefits.
